1988 Power Play integra 187 need windshield
I just found out that the barn that I store by boat in collapsed. It looks like for right now I will need a full windshield. Does anyone know where I might be able to find one or someone that can make one? I am in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area. I hear they have a few boats like mine in Holland Michigan but I will just need parts.
Thanks for any help. |
I think they were made by taylormade windshields. Our Integra's are more rare than the regular xlt185 so its not going to be easy finding one. You need to find someone that works with aluminum that could make one or fix the you have.

Thanks. That is what I was fearing. Is yours the one for sale? If it is, mine is the same color except my interior is teal, gray, and mauve. I don't want them to total it because I love the boat. I just bought it last year with only 300 hours on it and I don't know yet how much they will give me for it but probably not what its worth. If you come across something please let me know.

I did have it for sale for a bit... but we decided to keep it for summer 2014... putting a new 383 480hp motor in it. We live on a inland lake so it doesn't make much sense to go bigger. If your hull and top cap are ok then I would hang on too it, I would buy a new windshield for it and be done. Try to hold on to her, its a rare boat!

Are they really that rare? I have wanted one since they came out and finally got one last year. It is (was) in mint condition. It has a 305 in it with only 300 hours on it and everything is original. The interior was super nice. Not sure how it looks now. Waiting for the insurance company to look at the barn before we can touch anything. We are on an inland lake too so that is about as big as I can go unless I get a pontoon boat. Thanks for your response. I have an email out to Taylor Made systems so I can see if they can make one or what to do. That will probably be the hardest thing for me to find. My other neighbor is an Upholstery guy so that isn't a problem.

I talked to Andy at Taylor Made Systems and he said $2500-$3500 to make a new windshield. 10 weeks to build it. I wish I could find a used one but the chances of that are slim to none.

i tried to find a pic of your boat on the web and there are none. boat windshields are all different, but all pretty much the same. is yours all flat glass? or are the 2 corner pieces curved? is it 4 pieces or 5 total? i have a feeling it is a lot like the 23 regal velocity windshield, 2 curved pieces that meet in the middle and 2 side pieces. if there is a folding center piece that is flat glass between the 2 curved pieces it is even easier. start surfing ebay for similar windshields to yours. great lakes skipper has a bunch of them. taylor pretty much used the same curve radius on the front pieces. the left to right dimension where the front pieces fit to hull is the most crucial measurement. the side pieces can be fabbed-by you- using the base pieces that fit your boat and the top and front from the new side pieces. an inch or so diff in height will only be noticed by you. if it has all straight glass, you can get any larger windshield, cut frame down to what height you want, and get plexi (and a sears bandsaw) and cut the glass to fit the frame you built. i am in the middle of putting a 90 regal windshield on a 2000 crownline that was a (supposedly) hurricane damaged boat. if you can post a pic of your boat i could give you some more ideas. plus you have chrisf's boat for pics and measurements, which should help.
