46' Cougar, need some expert advice

Sorry in advance if this is in the wrong thread. My father-in-law told me to sell his 1986 46' Cougar. It needs a complete makeover on the interior, has no engines or drives. Whats this this worth? I just dropped the price from 25,000 to 19,900 hoping to get some friction. Please don't blast me, I'm new to the scene and not going anywhere. Is it the price or this website?

This the one in the classifieds that was called Fast Cashe at one time?

Masterson,

No Disrespect, you have presented the questions

From my perspective Cougars are a harder sell.

Everybody seems to love them when they see them,
but seem to be a harder sell.
Could be cause they are over sea’s (Still good hull)

Could be cause they are heavy and everyone wants
the NEW, the Lighter lay-Up’s
They are Old School, not everyone wants old School.
From your ad, sounds like a total project.
Not everyone wants a total project.

I will say, when I looked at your ad…
I was like Holy Crap,.. what happened since 2008?
Presentation, soap and water, proper tarp?
4”x4” holding it down… didn’t send good message to me.

Just my $.02

FYI,... not the website, it was listed on OSO in 2008 also

I remember when Brian had it. The cleanest boat around. Very sad to see what has happened to it. Its going to cost a ton of money to put that boat back together

If memory serves me, you ran the two #4's out board on the triple and the #3 in the center.

#3 is a longer drive, this aloud all your engine heights the
Same in the engine bay.

Long time since having that conversation
But pretty sure that was the reason.

This also allowed your tie bar across
All three drives to be level from one drive
To the next.

Thanks Jon, I thought it had to do with drive height & prop shaft depth, makes sense, just never seen this configuration
