Love the boat, anymore pics of the box truck rv in the background?

I built the Semi/RV to pull the Schiada when we were racing.

Also came up with another seating ?

I have been playing with the side view of the boat and a replacement deck. Ideas ?
A little old school.https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...ca8311b676.jpg

Here is a photo of the hole I need to rebuild.

https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...1db5bbd17c.jpg
I also ordered a product called C-Flex to build a mold-less deck. Its cool stuff and can be made strong and light. So we will see?

I will make the motor cover with it along with the side panels. With that I will also be using "Coosa Board" to replace the old plywood floor and other wood things.
When I get the transom housing removed we will see if any work is needed in the transom ? Man,I have a lot of stuff to cut out still ! I would leave the wood floor but we all know what will happen, maybe ?
But I can out 30% of the weight by using Coosa.

I have a question about seating.

Side-by-side on the boat center line ?
Split left and right seats on port and starboard sides.
Side-by-side all to the port ? Center most seat on hull center-line.
Side-by-side all to the starboard ? Center most seat on hull center-line.

I will also be building the seat system.I did some looking around for a DIY and had very little luck. Anybody have any links ?

Great thread randy! Anybody with enough money can go out and buy a boat and run it but there’s something different about it when the boats all done when you’ve touched every inch of it. As for your seating arrangements I would think two seats side by side with a small counsel in the middle would be an option to consider. On the counsel you could place your throttles and trim and tab controls so if the wife, girlfriend, buddy, etc wanted to drive you could still comfortably and safely run all the other functions of the boat. It would also give you the option to throttle left handed or right handed by simply moving the helm / orbital valve to the other side if you leave enough length is your hydraulic hoses.

keep up the good work!

Anybody shoot themselves in the foot before ? I have been building and working on boats for a very long time.
This is the first time I wanted to undo something on one of my boats. Man did I over build this floor.
But its a good / bad thing. Maybe I'm just getting old ? LOL
But I got the first of the floor up.

The last photo shows the underside of the plywood floor and its bottom glass layup. This is something one doing a new floor should do. This will help with keeping water out that can come from below. All you need to do is lay up one layer of glass on the sheet and then cut out the part needed for the floor. Seal up the cuts with some resin and then glass in place.

C-Flex got here today. Now I will see if I can make it work ? 200' x 12".

Ran into a little plan change. Having a problem getting the Coosa Board over to AZ. ( At a good price.)
Don't know why its not used on the West coast ? Oh well.

Plan will be to use Marine ply in its place. I have never had a problem before so its all good except the weight.
May need to work on that ?

B85 08-09-2019 08:56 PM

I never thought about asking you about it. I went to Composit 1 (here in AZ ) and they gave me a price on 10 (min order ) of $250 per sheet with shipping.
After the lose of Eddie, I kinda lost touch with what is out their.

Thanks Dan, I will give them a call.

Still working on it,but wanted to see if a new tow rig would work.
1 ton Ford with the Ecoboost motor. 400 T and 325 Hp ?
Been driving it for about a month and what a power house.
But I will need to keep things light. But that is easy.
Maybe a Alum. trailer ? Well,in the future.

Back at it again.
Been helping with my mother in-law. Hospice . Its been almost 3 years but its what you need to do.

Playing with a idea for the seats with a suspension system .
https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...1ffb771cfd.png
They will both have a spring and shock with 3" of travel.

Where will you be boating at? Havasu?

B85 07-20-2021 06:00 PM

Lake Pleasent, Havasu maybe the coast ? If the water comes back up ? Lake Mead. Would like to go back East also. I came from the Great Lakes, Port Huron . More of a dream but its a good dream.

Sure, no limits.

Tacked up some of the parts and layed the shock in about where it will mount ?

I like your idea, it will be an awesome upgrade.
keep posting the pics.

B85 08-08-2021 02:46 PM

Thanks ,its more for a old guy and hard hits . I stood up for years racing ,legs are great shocks .Then went to a seat. Had a lot of padding but still had some hard hits. This is what came to mind.
Still need to work on prototype frame and mount the seat then we will see.

B85 08-15-2021 06:43 PM

More part building. Have the base for the shock.

More brackets. What a pain

Wish I could just 3D print them.
But custom is custom ?
https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...5b9ea91e5d.jpg

And the shock is MM and the brackets are SAE. Wish the world would just go MM ?

B85 08-18-2021 06:49 PM

Test fit then on to welding up the frame.
https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...4785cb5fad.jpg

B85 08-23-2021 08:38 PM

Main frame tacked and now trying things.
Found this frame less base will not work.
But its was fun to see how it will feel when finish .
