New Guages

I am looking to replace all gauges. They will be mounted in a wooden dash. I believe I want these with a chrome, a white face and a redish/orange led backlight. Preferably a set can be obtained for < $350. Gauges I would like are;

1) Tach
2) Temp
3) fuel level
4) amps
5) volts
6) oil pressure
7) GPS speedo
8) OPTIONAL - trim & tab location

Do you have recommendations for me?

Might take a look at the Hardin Marine combos

$189 Includes:

3-3/8" 6000 RPM Tach
2-1/16" Fuel Level
2-1/16" Water Temp
2-1/16" Oil Pressure
2-1/16" Voltmeter

- and then add one of the matching GPS Speedos.

I'm sure there are other options too but I've used these for 2 years now and they have worked fine.

These have almost all your requirements, but except the backlight color. They're greenish and the bulbs are non replaceable LED. First link is for the $149 gauge combo, the GPS speedo is $129 under second link. I've contemplated getting a set myself, but I want gauges with spade terminals to minimize my effort in re-rigging the dash (if you see white face gauges with spade terminals on your search, please post them!)
There is also a trim gauge from the same seller, but appears only available for the Mercury applications.

Might think about something like these.

Those and a set of Autometers are my new contigency plan, thanks!

What would be your top choice gauge set for someone who is more interested in preserving the boat than measuring a high end speed, for someone who has an iphone with a GPS speedometer on it, for someone doing lake/river boating vs. big water, for someone on a restoration budget and looking for something that will tend to help the resale value of the boat?

The way I see this, gauges break down into a few categories (and I am by no means an expert, simply sparking a conversation)

1) knockoffs - look descent, modeled after a quality gauge but probably made in china where quality control is low, may even be a copycat product..
2) low end named brand - examples of this would be faria, sierra, SS Comp (maybe this is a med?), teleflux, etc.
3) medium end named brand - VDO, Autometer, Livorse etc.
4) high end named brand - Gaffrig, stuff for high end ski boats ( forget brand names), etc.

It feels like what I am looking for is in the medium category, it generally suits my buying pattern (high end within a medium category or low end within a high category), I am becoming a fan of the Autometer, but I am not exactly sure why?

I'd be curious how you would rank gauges by brand, specifically a set of gauges.

I like the autometer ones I bought this year. But the GPS speedo will cover your whole budget. I have the everything you listed plus the water and fuel pressure gauges. I'm in into gauges for 1200.00

This picture doesn't show the water and fuel pressure gauges. But it shows how they look

Autometer also here, my project:

Also, into a set of autometers for over 1300.
Look for used stuff in that price range.

Try Great Lakes Skipper an Ebay, I have about 350$ in my gauges and sending units, minus the fuel level. They have 194 bulbs that are easily replaced with LEDs and have a classic look that will flow with your Monza. Faria makes a good quality gauge.

I went and ordered a set of autometer in white with a blue bezzle (got the GPS speedo too...but mine is for a single) and it came out to ~ $800 (<$350 was wishful thinking). unfortunately once these arrive they are heading back due to a shift in boat color and a move to do this at the end of season. New dash, gauges, powder coating and fresh top paint are not possible in time so they will wait. bottom resurfacing, replacing the drive components and exchanging rollers for bunks are higher priorities and then it is time to see how the VP duoprop c7 does....is it too much for the motor, or will the boat fly?
