We said since it fits, might as well spin it...

Very impressive unit, which actually picked up an addition 50 hp and almost 100ft-lb torque, Topping the charts at 955hp @ 3200rpm / 1601lb-ft torque at 2900rpm with 56psi boost on 60psi drive pressure. EGT was between 1300-1500F at peak power. So looks like we found our winner. With some slightly larger injectors, we should be good well into the 1100hp / 1750ft-lb range. And to free up the exhaust a bit, we ordered them in a 76mm turbine with slightly better AR. This should also allow for nice operation in a lower 750-800hp keeping the EGT's low. And even though we didn't spend any time testing the singles down there, I'm guessing torque figures at 2600r be pushing 2000ft-lb.

Or at least slightly better than this 12.9L PACCAR MX-13 in my buddies Kenworth..

Man that is some power, you need to put some Weisman multispeed transmissions behind those.

We would have, but they currently only come in a crashbox design. I spoke with Pat about the ones in Lucas Oil Silverhook, when he informed me of that little fact. Makes docking a bit tricky in non-race applications.. So we'll see how TG's two speed design holds up.

With this single turbo setup making boost around 1700r, I'll bet this thing planes with pretty quickly even with big pitch props.

Haven't hung the engines on a scale yet. But I plan to check em before dropping in. Guessing somewhere around 1100lbs with coolers.

The pr of Tyson's two speeds we have came out of FightClub's shootout Skater. Those engines were making 1700hp, so should be good.

Much appreciated.

Still a long ways to go. Have to rebuild all the exhaust pipes now to fit a single turbo setup. Turbo to thru-hull tips is gonna be a bit tricky also..

We did manage to get the drives mounted up today. Hopefully we are close on X dimension, cause we are starting out in the highest setting. Also hope my clever transom gaskets work as planned. Next feat is stretching all the hydraulic lines to fit..

Also held the newly refinished swim platform up for a quick look.

I tried something a bit unconventional for a finish on this piece... What ya think?

Bad ass!

Never thought about needing new exhaust for the change in turbos 😮
I love looking at the plumbing on custom turbo projects but can’t imagine fabbing one up.

No comment on the platform finish 😉
Probably gorgeous in person.

That looks good KT!! I never thought about bedliner, it would be more durable, I plan on attempting to extend my swim platform a few inches this winter. I may have to look into this an also probably have different colors!
