Few years back I did the fenders on a boat trailer after the factory powdercoat started chipping off. Found it very durable in that application. Not even my wife's unique trailer backing skills could damage it..

So after seeing how this OEM powdercoated and twice painted platform was oxidizing from underneath, figured this might be a good fit. Took things straight from sandblasting, added some adhesion promoter, then shot it heavy. Has a nice non-slip texture, and since it's urethane based, should be soft on the feet. Only question is how well it protects in a harsh salt water environment. I also coated the steel engine mounting plates and hatch jack rods with same material. So we'll have something to compare with a few years from now.

Most of these liner compounds can be easily paint matched. We chose flat black to match the other boat trim. With the four diesel exhaust tips directly under it, black was kinda the only reasonable color option.

Also have the engine hatch wet sanded and buffed out. Turned out great. Still need to paint the wing, soon as I go help move the hatch. As for those glass panels, replacing with a 3/4" thick, lightly tinted, optix acrylic.

Cool idea on the bed liner. I thought it was wrinkle paint.
Also did not think of diesel exhaust under it.
Being open tube will help it disperse as well.

My wife hooked our well pump w/a trailer fender on the way to get me.
Didnt know it till we got home 🤓

weismannmarine new owner of FL based Speedmaster Inc.

Seems a few people are waiting to see how these drives hold up behind some real diesel torque, including the designer..

New turbos are here. Love the adjustable MAP ring. Now to rework the up-pipes and intake tubes to fit.

Ya know I was thinking that exact same thing yesterday...

Would love some input from other 40OL owners as to actual performance. I done pumped a fresh tube of silicone sticking those 280's back on, so guess we'll see how they do. But with our props setting 54" off the transom, doubt those little 280's will make much difference. Once Dave gets it's home, he can upgrade em if operating on Sydney harbor calls for it.

We do need a beefy 36" Tiebar if anyone has one laying around. Let the factory one go with the #6's, now I'm searching for a replacement.
