Not yet. The prop stretcher broke, and I have no way to make these 17's any larger diameter without it..
I would like to try some 18-34's on 5 or 6 blades to help plant the torque in the water better. But we haven't logged enough data in high gear to see where these shafts are actually running yet. Moving the camera down to a better vantage point on the transom soon as we get the shifting resolved.

I know props fairly well, and what changes equal what effects.
I think.
Same as you.
Ive done this, same as you, long enough to accept that we don’t know unless we try them.
I’ve had Props that everyone said would be great on my boats, sucked.
One thing I always do in a new project, I start prop shopping the day I buy the new rig.
Ive been working on my 25’ Checkmate conversion for two yrs and in that time, have collected, on the cheap cheap (you pay list when you need them), 5 sets of wheels, and only need LH mates to add two pairs to that.

Good to know. That was the 34 on 17" 4 blades when you saw it. Was looking to try a set of 18" before lowering the drives, but after the cracked case, was to easy to just drop the boxes. Am glad we did, because it still doesn't like those props. But the 18's make it happier.

Kidturbo, all the older Bajas that have #6 drives have 4 blades, even the ones with the notch I believe. So, isnt that the default or are you still trying more blades? Isnt a 4 blade the go-to for non-step V bottoms?

I don’t have the 4 blades I need right (17x32) now so I’m running 5s.
Heavy straight bottoms with high drive heights need big diameter.
The extra blade just create more drag as the prop is biting in solid water vs the water coming off a stepped hill.

Interesting points.
I get the diameter part.
Even w/light fast OBs, the larger the diameter, the higher we can raise motors.
When I raced kneel down OBs, we started on long courses w/long straightaways.
We all tan 2 blades for the top end.
During the fuel crunch era, they shortened the courses (to save gas!) which put new focus on acceleration and brought us 3 blades.
We lost 3 mph of top end but improved lap times.
I never considered the non ventilated water off the bottom of a non stepped vee.
Great point.

Not so fast Obiwan......the Tiger planes better and runs faster with 4blades vs 5.
