Do you wish that you went with VI drives and some two speed transmissions now?

What’s the smallest hull you could do a staggered set up with?
The Duramax seems like a viable platform. I’d like to see or do a pair of 650ish hp’s in a light stepped hull. ASD 8’s or XR’s with drive guardians if your feeling lucky.

he seriously needs to to contact rick at arneson and these problems would go away. bravos will not work no matter who sprinkles pixie dust on them.

SCS coupled to BPM stern tube would be my choice at least it would give the option to do ratio changes by just pulling the top cover not to mention no more drive worries.

Do a quick thread search about Rik/Arneson first.
If he contacts Rik, a lot of things might go away.....

These gearboxes are similar design to the SCS unit's I've looked at. Shafts, gears size and bearings are probably more up to the task than the lower units. However main issue, oiling system has been modified to an external routed setup vs the internal passages and tubes Weismann used. Having several spare cases, I can't disagree with the upgrades. But now it's prone to leaks, and should have been more thoroughly tested before final assembly. But with help off a camera, then my buddy standing between turbos and looking down the top, we narrowed down "location" of the main leak today I believe. Tomorrow we move the camera to the bottom halve and try again..

have you contacted him or lost anything or is this just more internet rumors with no experience?

Other camera trick we tried yesterday was the low transom mount to get a view of the prop shafts. While we came home with camera at least, footage was obscured by the spray off the pickup tubes at speed... Moving to tiebar next, and heading out to try again today.

No, never had anything to do with Rik or Arnesons but there was a controversial thread last year about Rik/Arneson drives. My comment was a 'tongue in cheek' remark and I apologize if it has caused any undue hurt or problems.
Here's the thread, on the open forum for all to see. Canceling Velocity Arneson Build Due To No Arneson Parts, NEED HELP

Back on topic, that beast of an Outlaw!

I have spoken with Rik in the past about building a new set. And actually know where at least one good #8 be laying in back of a barn.. Kinda my secret stash for next single project.
