40' Outlaw Upgrades - Twin 900Sc to 1000hp Duramax Diesels

No, never had anything to do with Rik or Arnesons but there was a controversial thread last year about Rik/Arneson drives. My comment was a 'tongue in cheek' remark and I apologize if it has caused any undue hurt or problems.
Here's the thread, on the open forum for all to see. Canceling Velocity Arneson Build Due To No Arneson Parts, NEED HELP
Back on topic, that beast of an Outlaw!

Logged another 40 miles or so last weekend. Boat did great, just had to stop and refill the Stbd gear case every few miles. Before we left I pressured tested all the oiling system lines and found nothing. So yesterday I broke out my friends new snapon scope camera. and located the source in 5 minutes.
This is a temp sensor in the dry sump pan I believe. Not sure how it comes out, maybe someone will recognize the design. But I recall asking one of my helpers to try and replace it with a new modle couple months back while transmissions were out. Also recall him saying it wouldn't come out without breaking.. So now we know, and it should be extra fun with the driveshaft and all the other hardware blocking access..
Here is some video from the run. Cruising 50-60mph. The new cell phone camera works well. But is missing the spec of lent in the lens which is noticeable in the last hundred photos..

Got the new to us tabs back from paint this week. Had him bring by his primer gun and seal the bare spots on the lower units, directly after sand blasting all the oxidation off of em again. Even in fresh water, only took 24hr soak, and 4hrs run time for electrolysis to start eating away on the bare spots. Whether or not we paint them black again, depends on next couple trips out.
Also set the hatch on again, see if that removes need for ear plugs...

Nice to meet you also. You win the first member to identify me off site award.. :-)
For everyone else, I'm back in Florida testing and breaking chit again. Been out twice, first day was a bit choppy, but just wanted to verify she would still plane out good with the 18x32's we had sucess with in Ohio. Here is some video of that run.

For Friday we swapped to the 380 Kplanes and tested a set of 18"x34pitch 4 blades going on another local members twin duramax center console 40'. Everything was going great, then 10 miles in, stbd broke a driveshaft... Well that's a new one... lol.
