i installed a ball valve inside the boat and hook the garden hose on a feed line in front of the ball valve and it is so easy! time to do it while you are in there!

Jeff id like to put exactly what your describing in my boat.
Wouldnt want to keep switching connections back and forth for flushing
I wasnt 100 percent sold on the hopped up earmuffs.
The guy in plumbing at lowes set me right up (see pic).

When the hose is turned on the water gets thru the sea pump fills up
the raw water side all the way thru and comes out of the exhaust.

It pumped real well so i let it run and checked for leaks.
The engine maintained 168 degrees, and sounded much better than it did last time

First time turning the wheel with engine running and happy to report no funny noises
From the gimbal/ujoints
Bled steering twice each way and turned back and forth no less than 40 times.
Have nice solid stop left and right but would bet it still has some air.

The steering is fast 1 3/4 turns lock to lock, not sure how thats gonna be

Ready for water any day, be going in w/o hatch or firewall.
Need registration sticker and it'll be just legal, just !

"The steering is fast 1 3/4 turns lock to lock, not sure how thats gonna be"
I would be very careful with the steering being that sensitive, 3 to 3.5 turns hard over to hard over is well within the range of control ability. Too quick causes over correction and may out run the steering pump flow rate and too many turns lock to lock will be to slow to counter correct.

Tank slapper was my first thought at 1 3/4 turns. The helm came with the boat, and i just reused it.
The drive was on an extension box and a pair long cyls where mounted way outboard on the transom.

I'll have to get a new helm after the drive break in period, 10 hrs, but will have to be sure of the part #
its ready to go in the water and im dying to see it float

Rak, i cant wait to get in the water, it's like chrissy eve around here, be sleeping w/ one eye open for that first stream of light.
Weighed it then put 20 gallons in it, 65 gal tank but want to mark the gauge since it's mechanical and need a reference point.
