82 avanti 27, worth restoring?
 

Hey guys I'm new here and this is my post..
I've been trying to decide what to do with this avanti.
the hull itself seems solid but not pretty. It has been repowered around 2006 with a 502. It has head work done,stainless marine manifolds and holley commander 950 mpi with a TRS drive.

in your opinion are these hulls worth the work to restore? I've never seen another which I thought was pretty cool. I also have a 89 Chris craft stinger 312 that is turn key so I don't have to miss out on any water time by pulling the avanti.

good question ! ask the Saris racing team / family if it is worth it! They did it to a 30 and they win races ! So I guess a 27 could still be a good boat!

I just came across this thread. Curious if you made a decision? In my opinion, if the hull is solid, and you have good mechanicals, restore! More information would be helpful? What does "not pretty" mean? Is it ugly paint/gelcoat? A wrap could take care of that...or an awlgrip paint job. Is it the interior? How long have you had it? Saris' boat is also a 27 pleasure boat, converted to race. (now retired). If you don't restore, would you sell it? How much? Good Luck with whatever direction you go!

Avantis are good boats and worth fixing if your into those 27x7s they handle good from what I’ve been told, I currently have a 88 avanti 27 and I used to have a 86 avanti 27
