Magnum 27 LSA power?

Helping my uncle restore a 27 magnum. The boat is going to have all brand new components and bravo one xr drives. He is looking for complete engine packages 450-500ish hp. Does anyone have experience with the LSA marine engines that are available out there and running them with a stern drive. Kodiak, marine power, and indmar marinize them just to name a few. Marine power has an “enpac” version set up for an i/o. I have read through every forum that had to do with the LSA and did not get any clear answers or experience from anyone running them with a sterndrivehttps://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...f60c96e92.jpeg

indmar had them for several years but have primarily moved on to the ford coyote motors, parts are now pretty accessible. Ilmor has them but they overly complicated and over priced them. done right I would think they would work good in a magnum..500 550 hp, bravos......

i told him just to go big block, but he is worried about the weight. Originally was going to do some 383s, but opted out of that

I have a Mag factory twin big block boat w/ heavy 72c trans , TRS/ssm2 and never had a balance problem, even with a gutted cabin. Good luck with your project!!!

I checked into these packages, I know Marine power has drop in bobtail ones ready for BRAVOs using CMI E-tops.

The Air boat guys have been using these for years, my engine guy says they have found that the top ends last to about 1500 hrs (so they rebuild around 1300-1400).

Motors are lasting in the 2800-3200 hour before they let loose. And these air boat guys down here use these things HARD.

Supposedly AMrine power was working on the LT4 (600 TQ/650HP) package, but I haven't checked in some time.

Conact Tahiti offshore, they have done a couple deck boats with LSA's(builds shown on another site) and had great results and hes always down to talk about set up.
i think they used marine power and had to wait on a couple odds and ends parts wise

Did your uncle buy that boat in CA I used to take care of that boat for the old owner it had a nice pair of small blacks in it . Regards Dan
