Drive height make always some discussion, its goon and I appreciate that.
Drawings have measures now, in millimeters, sorry.
All side cutaway pics are now draw so that bottom line is running surface inline drives. Notch is only 2,5" high front of drives and Fountain bottom is probably 1"-1.5" thick so drives can be lowered only 1" if I fill notch. Otherwise drive shafts hit bottom. ASD8 socket housing is 8,75" diameter and mine is 7", so my propshafts will be almoust inch lower already than ASD8 would be. Thin wall boxes give little extra clearance to CV joints compared to thick boat bottom if drives are mounted straight to transom. Boxes must have internal structure to prevent flex.

Drives will have 20 degree max down angle and 5 up. All down trim propshaft go under running surface, planning should be easy because props push transom up from water. CV joints are punished, but get on plan should not take long time.

Blue line show water line if one inch per foot is true, I think my drive height plans are quite close to sweet spot. Normal commercial surface drives cannot be installed barely lower than this CAD show.

Green Lightning, if your prop shaft is parallel to running surface, what is distance between running surface and propshaft centerline?

What boat is with four engines and surface drives? Nice!!

Thank you for help guys!!

Wow 40 degrees down would help a lot. What’s an Arenson’s trim range, up and down?

I can't get a super good measurement but I am around 5.5 inches between the running surface directly in front of the drop box and the thrust tube .

Ok, I'm 1.3" higher. But if notch and extension box add enough distance it should be good. By the way what boat you have Green lightning? 17" dia props?

If I drop extension box or fill notch, water will hit bottom of the box and nothing changes? Surface drives can't be set much lower than these, comparative to assumed water line, I think.

No mine are 18" gets on plane much quicker than the 17" props
