im tossing around the idea of redoing the cuddy cabin and the floors. my first question is how hard is it to get to the underneath of the cuddy. its my first boat redo, ive done fibreglass and have done carpentry so im pretty confident. some of my wood is is looking a lil rotten and my vinyl is toast so I figured take all the seats out and get to cutting the floor?
I planned to take my fuel tank out as i believe the floor drains are plugged and i want to make sure i fix that as im 90% sure thats how this happened. is it a good idea or should I just find something else |
There is no easy way, it's just hard dirty work! You will not recover your time and cash investment if you are thinking of selling in the near future. If you do proceed with the restoration, take lots of pictures and keep receipts for a potential buyer. I bought a boat once with the stringers and floor recently replaced, unfortunately they used dimensional lumber for the stringers and didn't fully encapsulate them with resin. They needed replacing in just a few years.

Engines issues, and now rot, best suggestion is to buy a "good" boat and stop dumping $$$
