Im going to pick this up tomorrow and was wondering what people's thoughts are, he said it's a little pinky where the porta poti goes because of the top window not being sealed and leaked, is it fixable or should I leave it?? Thanks. I can get it for 2300.
He just told me he is going to take the battery off the tender, hok

Motor runs but does the rest of it work? Did the normal checks on everything else? If just that piece of the cuddy floor needs to be replaced I’d say that’s not too big of a job and worth it for a usable boat, but you never know how far the rot got until you start surgery.

Usually there is always more rot than what is found before tearing into it!
but it an 89 so it can't be new either
worth it in terms of making money, no
worth it being once you go thru it you know what you have and fixed properly, yes
even more if you don't pay someone to do it!
post your progress!

At $3,000 or under I would just consider it a disposable boat. If it floats, runs and things work, I would just enjoy it for a few years or more and move on. A little rot is no big deal if you don't want to repair it. IMO
Sh!t, my 37' Active Thunder had a rotted/no wood left in the transom for a few years before I replaced it. (extreme example, don't recommend)

For $2,300 it's definitely worth it...if there aren't any major issues with things like the drivetrain, electrical system, etc. In others, if everything at least "works", it's worth it. But any major system fault and you can be ten grand into it quickly...which makes it not such a bargain. That is a big, heavy boat for that mouse motor to be trying to push around but again...if it all runs (I do like how the ad kind of sort of says that)...you should be able to get some enjoyment out of it.

For $2300, and some effort, that's a pretty good deal.

Dry out the potty floor. Pull the carpet off the sides a bit as well. Ensure it isn't wet.

Get some good sealing primer and oil paint.

Nice looking boat.

I'll be fabricating a trailer for my 233, because everyone wants way too much for their disposable u-bolt trailers.

I'd buy it just for the trailer....lol.

Literally just scratching the surface.

It depends on what you want out of the boat.
If you just want a local beater to run around on with land in sight; buy the boat as cheap as you can.
Dig out and patch up that rotted spot with SeaCast, or just cover it with another piece of wood...
...and send it until it breaks somehow that's NOT worth fixing.
