Hi all
A new member from Norway here. I bought an old racing boat that was raced in a series called SuperVee here in Norway. The boat was buildt here in Norway. Not sure what the setup was back then, looks like a trimax drive or something similar. But its been a pleasure boat the last 10 years now, and its been running with a supercharged Teague V8 and a Speedmaster 6 drive. I bought the boat without the engine, but with the drive. The drive needs to be rebuild after it broke down. Not sure how bad it is yet. But could somebody tell my what generation drive i have? Tried to do some research, and from what i understand it was first the K-Drive ( Kieckhafer) , then Speedmaster 6, then 6A and then the M6? Do i have the Speedmaster 6? And is it worth rebuilding? Can i still get parts for it? When did the drive get reverse internaly ? https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...35a5ae225b.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...37bfbbdd72.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...dd9cad0c8b.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...12338ac54e.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...d7b4a2398d.jpg Agreed looks like you had a TRIMAX with a Rudder or possibly an Arneson with a Rudder back in the race days. #6 drive now Agree with General Concensus its probably Wetsump gearcase & modified Skeg The way its painted reminds me of the old #7's that were set up for Diesel... but anyway could have painted it this way. You will need to know the gear Ratio when picking out replacement gears. Any identification on the gear itself? Engraving or Laser Etch? Very Cool boat you have 👍 |

Very Cool boat you have 👍 From what I have found out, the drive is under the defenition in the Mercury system" Early style pre-1998". And I found a number on the upper casing, its 10002. And the parts i need are not available anymore. I probably have to get them machined. But I also came across in our versjon of craigslist, a used but latest versjon of the M6 drive with only 70hours for about $20.000. Which im considering. But i also found a awesome deal at a shop called Allmarinemotors,, they have annonced a brand new M6 drive for just $15.285 . Does anybody have any experience with this shop? Because if his is for real the total delievered to me would be almost the same as the used i found. I cant post links btw so just check out their homepage |
If I found the right Allmarinemotors, you should ask over at RDP.
The company is based in Sacramento, and the Delta crew would know if it is a reputable business. |
