2009 Shootout - Team KANSAS
 

Won our class!!! (First and Last... Nobody in our class...)
We ran 85 on Saturday after waiting over 2 1/2 hours out at the start boat to run. I was pleased with that speed since we ran 86 last year light on weight and fuel. This year we had some weight (gear) in the boat and were heavy on fuel. The cool weather was the key.
After waiting all that time on Saturday I said to heck with running on Sunday.... Although now I wish I would have just to see what we would have got?? They were moving boats thru much faster on Sunday!! On the way back to the ramp I hit 87 pretty easy and ran out of room....

All in all it was a Great Event!! Ron and his crew do a great job!! We actually stayed right at Captain Rons and that was AWESOME!! We could look out our window and see everything!!!

And I wasn't the only 28 Saber there!!!

Congratulations Brad & crew !! Glad to hear the ole girl's still got it !!

You guys are going to hate me, but I didn't take any pics other than with my cell phone. I was pretty busy all weekend. (for those that hadn't heard my .38 Special was stolen about two weeks ago and they found it on Friday of the shootout)

The other saber was the 28 that has newer paint (kinda green and blue) beautiful boat!! I've seen it on here before. We only got to wave to each other because it was just as the course was closing on Saturday and we were leaving. I would have loved to get a better look at it and show it to all of my buddies to show how good one can look!!

That must have been Martin's boat.

Any damage done to the 38? Better yet, any damage done to the jerk off that stole it? :angry-smiley-038:

Brad, nice to meet you this weekend. Sunday was much better to run. You guys definitely should have raced again.

Go by is right....I was counting down to about 3:18 and you were'nt even in the picture. Then you slide right in.....cool.

Great video !! Not sure how hard the other guys were running but I loved it when you guys as Jdub said just slide right in & stroll on by !! The thing about your boat Brad is that I have that funny feeling it has 1-speed & we all know what that is.. I love it !!

When you ran in the shootout where you in the boat by yourself or did you use a driver ?

The Fun Run started at the 19 mile mark and the video was taken at the bridge which is at the 34.5mm then we continued up to Big Dick at the 47mm. We ran with those two boats (Baja and a Cigarette) for most of the run, but as the bridge came closer I thought, "I'll be damned if they are going to beat us to the bridge" so I stepped it up a little.:drink:

Your not the first one to say that boat only has one speed... Heck, I can't help it, it just loves to RUN!!!

I throttled in the Shootout and Jeremy Ressler was the driver, I think you met him in Chattanooga before. Its a handful for one person to drive with the trim being over by the throttlemans seat and the steering wheel in the middle.:eek:

I was asking about anybody else in the boat b/c I knew thats how you always ran & think its really cool b/c I have no doubt that light on fuel & only one cat onboard along with the right water condidtions that you have a 90 mph small block powerd old school conventional V.. Which is friking sweet !! & quite an accomplishment in my opinion !!

Yeah I remember Jermey, hes been with you a while.. How about Brant..? Did he ever get his beast of a Nordic up & going ?? Are you guys doing any racing this year ??

we were there and it was unbelivable (never thought there was a place as good as mich to boat, ozarks changed my mind) made reservations far next years shootout alredy. brad checked your boat out friday at capt rons wish i could have talked. maybe next year.

I would love to be out there myself next year.. :coolcowboy:
