whats the deal with that boat. It was out here for awhile sitting outside without any drives. I use to go the long way to work so I could look at it. I never could figure out what it was but I always thought it could be an apache. Now I know ,sweet boat

Skramer--
Thanks --i knew you had tried back then, it was a long wait but i think it was worth it. I've got the engine compartment cleared out and going through things to make sure that everything is ready for a long summer of boating. The engines are apart -- a good thing -- time was not their friend --I;m going to drop in a pair of 700's for now until we get the blower motors built, i realize it will a bit doggy compared to when Parnell was running it -- but just for a while. Luckily i had a spare set of drives and tabs that will bolt right on... It will be over at Kelley's asap. I need to download some pics off my phone. Dave |

Congrats Dave
You will love it NK |
Parnell thanks for everything! Remember anytime on the ride.
|
Dave,
Parnell is one of my best friends and I've never seen more passion about building a boat the way he wants more then Parn does especially when he did Ancestral Spirit! That boat is amazing and you will be blown away how that thing rides! Some of my best and favorite memories are in that boat! Congrats and wish you the best! I am sure it won't be long and the pics of you running in the rough will posted soon. Congrats, CJ |
He did a fantastic job on it, i hope i can keep it going the same direction. After looking at the attention to detail on AS and then on his Donzi i can tell he takes it very serious.
Yes I hope to have some great running shots once we hit water.... |

So did she hit the water this year?
|
It was in for a couple of weeks in august, wasn't happy with 650's in it. Yanked them, rebuilt originals and just finishing installing them--- just in time for cold weather...
had a few gremlins to chase in the meantime. it was a great idea to sell my other 2 running boats in the spring:lolhit: |

lets just say 650 isn't cutting it in that boat.
I yanked the original power right away this spring and went through them, we had them running on the lake on Saturday. Just long enough to find a few more things that need attention... motors ran strong and felt very much at home in the engine bay. I don't mind working through the little things now so i'm ready for the spring next year :coolcowboy: |
What does it look like under the deck on one of the Banshees? Were they all similar?
Is it a no-frills cabin? Bulkheads and stringers? Just curious, I don't recall ever seeing a pic. |

Here's WWs cabin. There's a head on the right, electronics, coolers and storage on the left. No frills half cabin, it works well.
|
Dan, the cabin in your boat is actually very roomy and cool!

The cabins are very functional for what i do, mine is set up with good amount of storage on both sides as you go into the cabin in the form of shelves, and then has two bench seats that form into a double bed, forward of that there is a 6' v berth.
The less there is to break -- the less that can break --i keep the plasmas in my living room... With the 650's, we were under 70mph, with no prop tweaking -- just a set of 26's i had kicking around... This was in relatively flat water. |
Nice work, best thing for that boat. Get her back in the water asap. You will be very happy with the Chiefs. How are the transmissions?
|
Hi Dan -- funny you ask about the trannies -- they are gettting sent out for a refresh/update as the one didn't like the water test on Saturday...
|
Yes, at first mine had some troubles. I don't think they do well after sitting for a long time.
|
:worthless_without_p Updates.. Any info?
