Not sure what the different suffix's stand for? Sprints were smaller 18 & 22 I think. Great question, there are some very knowledgable and helpful people in this forum I 'm sure you will get the question answered.

A NADA book really helped line out the diff. avail. models year to year, - mostly what length each model is (was) and which models overlapped each other.

There's a way to access specs and brochure archives off the wellcraft.com site.

Excel, - that's like 30' and came after the Panther ('86-'89)?

Re: different Scarab models???

Note that the Larry Smith Scarabs (also called Team Scarabs) are completely different than the Wellcraft models highlighted in the posts above. They share some hull design aspects but not much more. Team Scarabs are basically race boats custom built to order in lengths of 26, 31, 38, 43, 46 (most popular sizes). These were laid up in california and most never were touched by Wellcraft. There are others on this board that more about this but that's my $0.02. NADA guides would be an excellent place to catalog the different Wellcraft models.

Re: different Scarab models???

A 28' excel is a 26' with a built-in swim platform all are single engine. As for the Larry smith they are completely different built in Calif. as opposed to wellcraft ones built in FLA. I think they made some other excels 31 and 34 which also had an attached fiberglass platform. Before this the 31 and 33 Scarabs had a teak. hope this helps,
