http://newimages.yachtworld.com/1/5/3/0/8/1530826_5.jpg http://newimages.yachtworld.com/1/5/3/0/8/1530826_2.jpg Well after months of searching I finally bit the bullet...... er SCARAB! Its a '33 1999 with 502's, Full Hyd Latham Steering, KPlanes and only has 67 hours. The previous owner was a physician at one of my past hospitals where I was CFO and he just didnt have the time to use. He had on constant "winter" maintenance and the interior still smells like fresh fiberglass. We'll be calling Lake Travis, TX and San Leon, TX our homes. I was looking at older / smaller Scarabs but the wife "insisted" (ask Jason at So Austin Marine) that we get this one. |
Congratulations on your purchase,That paint scheme was in the 1999 Scarab catalog.Always loved it.Mike

Nice. Back several years ago Lee Murray used to smoke the field in F2 (twin 500 efi's) - in offshore racing. That boat is capable of running with the big boy's. Congrats!

Congrats...damn nice boat! What do you think the top speed might be with that bad boy?

"survey" says 76 ...... not sure how the sales guy came up with the estimate but it IS what the online Wellcraft brochure says. It will probably later in the season until I get it up there though. there are already serious concerns about my life insurance polich being in place. I'm just ready to take it out the Cl Lk channel in front of the Kemah cut and open it up and head East towards the channel.
Best thing is that I awoke this morning with no buyers remorse over the boat or the price paid. |
and what was the price?
