Introduction
Hey guys, this is my first post. I just purchased an 88 wellcraft scarab sport. The boat is in pretty decent shape but i plan on dont some work to it. I was wondering if anyone knows what kind of coring was used in scarabs back in that era? Also has anyone done a "deck-off" restore of an older scarab? I have been thinking about popping the deck off to make it easier on me when i re-wire and re-run all of my hoses, just wondering if its worth the trouble. Thanks in advance.

I think it depends whether you're set up for it. Do you have an overhead lift and a few extra bodies? When my brother and I re-did an old Formula, taking the deck off was worth it for us. Good luck - Jeff

I do not have an overhead lift but i could gain access to one. Do you mind explaining what is actually involved in removing the deck from the hull after the rub rail is removed and all screws are out and hoses un-hooked?

Your Lucky in a way because most Wellcraft hulls are NOT tabbed to the deck like all boats built at Team Scarab were,
But you better check because I beleive the top deck and inner liner is one piece. Mike J. |
