Difference between a scarab 300 and a 30 S-Type

Anyone know what the differences are between a 300 scarab and a 30' S-type?

Thanks

the early (1977-early 80's) scarab 300 had a high clear glass winshield. The S-types had a lower windshield and most of the S-Types I have seen, the windshield was tinted black. The two hulls are identical and the cockpits and identical. I am not sure what kind of power options you could get in the S-Types, but I saw a S-Type that was for sale several years ago that had Gale banks twin turbos on it.

This boat has 270HP small blocks that were recently rebuilt to 330HP. It has TRS drives, Do you know if this was standard on all scarabs or was this an s-type upgrade?

the 30 Ft scarab goes by a couple designations, Scarab 300, Scaran II, Scarab S-type, Scarab Panther, but they are all the same hull. Most of the 30 Ft scarabs I have seen have BBC in them. Years ago I looked at a 30 Ft scarab that had SBC,s in it. I think it would be pretty cool to yank the SBC's out and put in the new lsX block. You can get 550-600 hp out of a 400cid motor pretty cheaply and save a bunchg of weight, but I am not sure how it would affec the balance of the boat.
