New is still out of my price range... they're going for high 30s, correct? I'm trying to stay under 20K... but the Outlaw 20 does seem to be the most boat for the money in that price range.

Both boats are very cool.

I just saw a new 20 Baja at the river, and it didn't have a cuddy. Just a storage area underneath the deck. Neither boats have a place to mount a head, which is a big downside for us, cause we overnight at the river.

I personally like the lines of the Scarab 22, but when I upgrade I will probably do a late model Baja 25. The difference between the Baja 25 and these two boats is night and day. Not sure if you can swing the extra coin, but if you can it's hugely worth it.

Lastly, I bought my Scarab 6 years ago and I think I love it more today than the day I got it. I bought it for 21K, and in my area I could probably sell it for about that now.

You gotta go and make my decision difficult, don't ya? :-)
I also like the lines of the 22' Scarab better -- looks longer to me. What I really don't like about the Scarab is the wood/carpeted floor in the cabin, and the thirstier motor with no real performance gain over the 305 in the Baja. I like the dash layout in the Scarab better, but like the offshore style shifter/throttle in the Baja.

I know the so-called cuddy, really isn't.

The size restriction I've imposed is mostly because of storage constraints -- the garage I'll be keeping it is only 25' long, so 22' of boat is about the most I can fit in there. If I pay for storage elsewhere, it totally blows my budget.

The number one thing to consider is that you will look Way Cooler in a Scarab than in a Baja and Chicks dig dudes with cool boats.
