Bueller?....

Bueller?....

:cool-smiley-011:

11:1 compression in 454 marine engines bored out to 468ci to get 650hp. Too much compression for a boat? Thoughts?

What's the scoop on your boat?

Details?

Almost bought that boat 8 years ago, but wouldn't roll over real easy and wouldn't in rough water at all. I stay away from that boat been for sale for a long time!

Sounds like it's had serious engine work since then.

What do you mean by "roll over real easy"? Do you mean rolling over with the wave to smooth out the ride? If so, what would cause this 38' Scarab to do that any different than another comparable 38' Scarab? Anyone?

After some insight, I assume you're referring to the bow being too high and the boat not planing out correctly. If it has 650hp now, maybe that's not a problem any more? :cool-smiley-011:

If it's been for a sale for a long time, I sure haven't heard about it. From what the owner is saying, the engines are fresh, so it's certainly improved.

Are you certain it's the same boat? There's a 1990 that's similar to it at Glencove. You sure that's not the boat you're thinking about?
