hey all new to site i have a 22ft 1995 scarab came with 350 had rebuilt 383 stroker not real happy with engine builder appx 425hp vortech heads 530lift cam air gap intake quality wise top of line have over 7000 in motor does anyone have anything simaliar would really like to know performance of this motor it runs 66 to 68 on gps i think it should better any suggestions

Yes,what prop are you running?what rpm's are you at when at wot?What elevation.I know,lots of question but need answers before we can suggest mods.

welcome to the group I had a 22 scarab 1997 had the 454 mag mpi with 385 h/p it ran 73 mph on gps they are great boats have fun with it

welcome i had a 1998 scarab 22 sport with a 454 330hp. and it ran 67 on gps cant remember prop size but i bought the boat brand new so it was all oem from factory ,fun boat i flew that thing into the sky

Without actually putting the engine on a dyno that actual hp is anyones guess.I do have to say though your small block is running pretty darn good at that gps speed.What gears do you have in the out drive?Hopefully it's 1.50 ratio.Take a look at it and see what it says.

yes it is 1.50 run a drive shower also syn oil no prblems i forgot to mention they only put 600 edebrock on it want to switch to 750 demon

i have a scarab 22 with a hp 465, with a dart intake and 721 cam running about 530 hp, i am running a 27 labbed prop running almost 80 gps, i put drew marine sidewinders on to help on the chim walk. i have 26 mach stern prop that brings up the bow, i would check on the hook on the boat and get a few mph. good article in poker runs america about it
