Jonny-newb here... saw this and it looked pretty nice. Question is this...

does the phrase "elevated moisture levels" when applied to this boat make you think:

A. Ignore, its probly fine to run for years
B. Walk away, its mostly fine, but the _______ needs attention now
C. Run away far and fast, its going to cost more than its worth in absolutely mandatory repairs

Boat was probably stored outside all of it's life. Paint shines on the sides though and it is a cool boat.

Nice boat....I commend the seller for being as staight foward as he is being....Got to wonder how bad is it, and what his reserve is.

My father had a Raider in the early 90's. Fun boat. A bit heavy, but looked good. Traded it in for another boat at it sat for years on Gandy Blvd in St. Pete. Eventually the lot/sales company were sold and I don't know what happened to it. Had twin Johnson 275s that were very worn out.

Good to see photos of a similar boat. Thing look really sleek in that water shot.

Yeah I have a 90 34 excell with some softness in the transom. I know I'm going to have to repair it. I'm just trying to build up the courage & knowledge base first.

Looks like a cool setup. Very old though. All those 80's scarabs I've seen need stringers. Too much work for something I have to pay for.

The boat is 23 years old, ofcourse the meter will read moisture levels. It would show moisture even if it had sit in the desert for 23 years. I have a 34' from 1987 and just love it. Some day I might redo the stringers just to shave off a little weight and stiffen the hull up, but for now I am just cruising. This boat looks awesome and have many years of service left in it. No doubt, you will spend some $$ in TLC, and you will spend a lot of $$$ if you want it to look new again, nevertheless - you can do the TLC on your own time and schedule and your payments will be a fraction of a new boat. I'll say go for it!
