Yes, 1/36 can be a real challenge. I give a lot of credit to my customers who do nothing but 1/35 military and the detail they create with it. Detail master has .0075" wire that looks pretty good for plug wires in 1/36. Every kit I've opened has the poor fit for the hull. I just cut a piece of styrene to fit across the hull between the hatches and cabin door to the proper width and CA it in place. Below are a couple sets of stacks I did from raw aluminum tubing. The Blue Pete is a resurrected kit that I built when I was a kid (30 years ago) and the Purple Pete belongs to a customer.
I carry Detail Master in our store so if you need help finding any, let me know. Here is a link to ScaleBot. They have a great calculator for converting scale measurements. http://www.modelcars.iwarp.com/tips/scalebot.htm |
nice! I'll be doing another one of these scarab kits over the winter, hoping to eventually make a wave-crushing diorama with a few of them, so I'll definately be in contact with you.
Be sure to e-mail me updates on your build when you get back to it, and order/contact info for your store. thanks [email protected] |

The owner of DAZZLEMENT posted on the thread. The boat is from your area. Pretty cool to hear from them. Wayne |
