26' Flat Deck Scarab - any info or history?

I've noticed the 26' Larry Smith Flat Deck Scarab in the Classfied section, and I REALLY like that hull. It looks like exactly what I'd want....but I can't get a hold of the owner, and I don't know where to find another one.

How rare are these things?
