need prop advice for 29
I have a 1996 29 single 502/415 with a bravo1 drive, looking for some advice on a prop( 3 or 4 blade ) and a good pitch. Also any estimates on speed with a certain prop would be awesome. Thanks in advance and happy boating, its starting to get good here at lake st clair, michigan:evilb:

66 huh, thats better than I was thinking. do you remember if it was a 3 or 4 blade? anyone else have any advice? I'm hopefully going to be in the water this weekend, thanks in advance

Yea, actually ran 68 at its best, standard speedo though. The only thing done to the motor was emi thunder exhaust and the vortech power-up kit. Tried a 26 4 blade but only spun it 4500. So the 24 was a good set-up.

I have a 95 with a single HP500.
Bought it in '05 and the previous owner had a 23 mirage which he claimed hit 5700 rpm and ???mph. I did not even try the 23 and put a 25 labbed mirage on and ran about 66 on GPS. In '06 I rebuilt and installed a ProCharger, which dyno'ed at 713HP. I ran a 28 Bravo at 5200 rpm and could always hit 78 mph and twice hit 79.6 (damned if I could hit 80!) Since then took the ProCharger off and now run the stock HP500 (which btw made 517 Hp on the dyno back in 2006). I now run a 24 labbed Bravo and hit 66-67 on GPS and about 5400 RPM |
unbelivable,we run with 29 scarab from 2000,502 MPI,23 Mirage Plus,1.65 Gear ratio 5100 Rpm 56 Mls!!

I would like to know how ya'll are getting these numbers with stock 502's. I have a whippled 509" making 630hp@5300rpms and I'm getting 72 with a light load(two people and 1 Ice chest). My buddy I boat with every weekend has a 96' with a carbed 540" making about 600hp and he gets 68mph in pretty much any conitions. He had a stock 502 when he bought it and was nowhere near 66. Did ya'll remove the hook in the hull to see these numbers?
