88 Excel Stowage Room
 

Hi Everyone

I'm new to this forum (and boating...) and would like to ask you Scarab experts a question.

We bought a 1988 28' red Excel with a 454 MAG / B1 last October right at the end of boating season here in Switzerland. (Had to have it after the test drive):D
Yet we did not have a chance to take the boat out for more than the test drive before taking it out of the water for inspection and putting it away until April next year.

The boat is in winter storage right now and not easily accessible.
That's why I thought I might ask this question here:
Does this boat have some stowage room underneath the seats in the cabin? Where do you guys stow away all the stuff lika anchor, sunshade, safety equipment and the like?

Before you all go "why didn't you look at that thing in detail before buying it?" You're right, but I just did not think of stowage at inspection time, I was far more interested in the condition of the hull, the engine and the drive. I found out that the rear seat opens though.... :o

Any Input is appreciated as I like to plan ahead and still need to buy all the equipment which you are legally required to have on board in this country and having an idea of the stowage area will help decide what equipment I'll get

No storage under the cabin seats in my 89 31 Excel. I store the anchor in the front bow locker.

Storage under the v-berth cushion too, no??

I tried ,no storage room under the seats, the center compartment is for the potty,I put life perservers there,the compartmet for the ice chest I put the rest there.I kept the anchor in the engien compartment,Fortress fit in there good,never moved. also added extra battery and extra battery box for some stuff, On the other side I made a lip for the battery shelf,keep a tool box with jumper cables.I cant remember if theres a compartment under the v brirth chousion.the back seat has room under it.Under radio I kept junk,first aid kit etc,I had my 1989 Scarab 12 years.the storage wasent a big deal.

Just took mine out tonight, there are 5 screws that hold them down, they are located around the base of the cusion, can post pics if that would help.

in mine i have storage under ther rear seat..anchors and dock lines go there and life vests go in the ice locker
