1981 scarab ii 300 question?
Hi I am new to twin inboard, but I really like and could only afford the older boats like the teak window surround style scarabb II with the side by side hatches.
I found one for sale, around 12k, and i am considering it, because it has been well kept dry, and is unmollested. What do you guys think about buying a boat like this with the old TRS drives, and 454 engines Is it worth it, should I stay away from that old of a boat? are they a pig on fuel? or should i buy something smaller with twin 350 or something. i also like the wellcraft nova II 26ft, cant make up my mind. I love the old teak, on those early eighties wellcraft. I kinda want something the wife and I can still sleep on with the comforts of a sink fridge. |
I have a 1980 Scrab II with newer 502's and she gets around 2mpg if you go easy on it wich is pretty good for a 30ft boat. tops out in the mid 60's, I live by the Saginaw bay in Michigan and never have a problem with it.
However I must sell if your interested let me know. The boat comes with everything including TriAxle trailer in like new condition. |
