29 scarab questions
I'm looking at an 02 scarab. 350 efi's.
Just looking for some pro's and cons on the boats them selves. Ride, Speed, room, overall oppinnons. (i/m coming from a 22ft crownline) The boat in question has 23 pitch bravos. any idea on how it would run? thanks |
I have a 2000 29 scarab with the same power and it will run 66 to 68 mph That is the best top speed you will see. As far as ride they cut through the rough stuff great They ride great get on plane with no problems. All around a good boat to own

Great boat!!
I owned mine for 11 years. It did however have a single 509cid blower engine in it. The ride is absolutely bar none one of the best in its length. Didn't need to use the tabs a whole lot either. The twin 350's will give u the reliablity in case of a break down. The cabin hieght is around 4 foot or so. I am 5'11 and did not have a lot of problems. Great for over nighting on the lake. The birth was comfortable. The kids and wife would pile in when the weather got bad or just to get out of the sun with the fans on. The porta pottie is easy accessible for the wife if needed. It's a good size step if your moving up from a smaller boat. The only reason I had a single big block was for maintenance issues due to me travleing so much. It was easier for me. Anyway, u can email me for more questions, but good luck whatever your choice is. And one more thing. If your moving up in size get something that holds resale value. I had no probelms what so ever selling mine. The market is a buyers market right now, so you should be able to find a good deal on whatever your choice is, just don't get in a hurry. Have a survey done on whatever you do buy. Thanks, Shawn |

Thanks. Think 1/2 ton would pull it ok, for 1 summer? I know I will need to upgrade down the road. I've seen em priced all over the place 30-40K, This one is priced towards the top, and needs some cosmetic things. Pretty good boat overall, but I figure another 2K into it. Still tryin to decide if its a good enough deal or not . From what I have read the ride is good, and the hull seems pretty good.
