does anyone know what is the Gross weight for a 1989 26 foot scarab center console with a single 250 merc. efi?
i have a ford sport track suv. that the hitch is rated for 3500 punds of max gross trailer weight.
any help will be highly appreciated

Eddito, I read your other post and no way would I tow a boat of this size with a bumper ball.
You need to invest in a good frame mounted hitch, reciever and ball.

And even then you need to see what your vehicle is capable of towing as they very by engine, rear end gears and even 2 or 4 wheel drive. This may be listed in your owners manual or you will have to check with a dealer to find out. If your vehicle is capable and you add a hitch you should also add a transmission oil cooler.

The weight listed is a "dry" weight.
You will have to take into account the weight of fuel and all of the equipment and other things you are going to have on the boat like a cooler and towels as It adds up quick.

Also you will have to add the weight of the trailer.

I have been down this road before and ruined a engine with low miles towing more weight then I should have. Also had a friend smoke a transmission on a newer truck pulling more weight then recomended.

You might get away with it for a while but it will catch up.

Something else to think about is you are also putting peoples lives in danger if you are towing more weight then your vehicle can handle.
