Secret HIN location

Looking at an early 1990's 22' scarab for parts. HIN is missing from transom(smashed in from truck backing into it apparently) Is there a hidden number that I can look for? I have heard there is one under the rub rail but did not find it. Any other locations?? Thanks for the help.
