Does he have anyone have experiance with the Scarab 29 single engine with a 2''inch shorty on it?

Speed gain?
Boat handling at hight speed?

I have one with the merc 525sc in it and i want to gain some mph.

Thanks Carl

I have a 26 single 900+ HP with a SCX shorty gain 4MPH on top end. Has higher slip in the cruising range.

a guy that used to have a scarab just like my 29 used to run an extension box on his and had picked up a few miles an hour from it.
I know with my fresh 502 and a 23p i'm only pull about 63 @ 4900 tops... we are figured around 450hp on the 502 so i'm think i'm lacking some HPs cause the motor shop things i should be spinning that motor up to 5500 for the way they built it.

With my 525sc (525HP) I turn a Bravo 1 4 blade 26p lab at 70 mph gps any day max I have got is 72.5mph in good day at 4950-5000 rpm .

I am also looking to put another bigger blower and roller cam on it to get more HP and possibly putting a imco shorty to help (if that can help)...
