The new light-weight hatch was pulled from the mold and fitted on the scarab. Two scoops have been placed on the hatch. Since this is a staggered configuration, the scoops will be staggered as well.
The topside deck has been grinded and the dash has been cleaned up as well. He will start redesigning the dash soon following the owner's wishes in design.

Love the new hatch! IMO I think the scoops are too tall. Wondering if you plan to cut them down?
I have a similar scoop on my jet boat and ended up cutting it down so it didn't sit up so tall!
Keep the pics coming!

as I understand it, by keeping the drives closer together, hi-perf boats gets all of these benefits:
check out these pics of an outerlimits race boat.
http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/g...-40-rehab.html
- the drives will be closer and lower on the deep-V
- lower means better center of gravity
- lower means the drives will get undistrurbed water
- lower and cleaner water means the drives can have a better x-dimension
- the weight of the engines will be distributed better forward and not just aft as pleasure boaters want to maximize cockpit space, and minimize engine room space

The hull specialists are almost done with the deck alterations...following the owners wishes...
Next up is hull prep, then the painters get a hold of the hull...wooohooo!
BTW, the body is all epoxy resin...solid!
