Boarding Ladder under Platform

Hi all,

The boat is a 1988 Scarab Excel 28. I need to renew the swim platform, The plan is to use some kind of glue on pad (like TBS or threadmaster - I'm im Europe...) While at it, I'm considering moving the boarding ladder from the top of the swim platform to the under side. Yet I am concerned with dragging the ladder as this thing sits lo low above the waterline (at least at rest ist does). Do you think it's safe to mount an under platform ladder on this boat? What are you using for boarding ladders ? Any suggestions welcome!

Many thanks

Thanks! I'll give it a try then. Do yo remember what type / brand the ladder is? I was looking at something like this:

I have a Windline and have been happy with it, mine has a push button latch that I don't trust so it gets secured with a bungie cord.

Under platform ladders are the way to go- much cleaner looking...

I also have a Windline with the push buttom latch underneath my aluminum tube-style swim platform. No problems with it and you hardly see it. The bungee cord might be a good idea for your application.

Self retracting - nice option.
