29' Blown Prop Question
 

I just broke the golden rule. I took out a perfectly good running 496HO off my 2002 Scarab 29 and replaced it with a Merlin 540 with 8.71 Blower and Super Chiller.
After two twisted drives, XR upper with Imco lower, one a 1.50 and the second 1.36. I have tried 26, 28, 30 and 32 4 blades with minimal speed variation.
The question is how to prop it. 950 HP single is just putting too much torque on the drive and twisting the output shaft or the upper one.
Any suggestions out there on props ?

I would say get a better drive worked out first before trying to test more props.

How much for the 496?
