Scarab I.D. Help
Ok been out of boating for over ten years. So getting back in after a divorce. So buddy has a nice updated painted and cockpit Scarab. I'm gonna do the motors over. Boat is a 34 I think with twin 330hp and TRs drives. But how can I tell what model and how much power this hull. An take?
Serial # is "wele ???? M83D-S340 Any help would be great. Thanks John |
I owned a 1983 34 Scarab III, I had three different motor combos, stock 502 crate motors, added 177 blowers 1050 carbs ran mid 70's, then N/A 600 hp each motors, upper 70's, pump 89 octane gas 27" pitch Hydromotive props TRS drives

I gather its a 1983 34 foot boat from that serial #???
M83D figure that's for 1983 S340 means Scarab 34 foot boat. looking on-line at images, looks like a "Express Cruiser" If they made that model, or Scarab III without radar arch. BUT the one I'm looking at has center door and twin bolsters, NOT side-by-side bolster and offset door. ANY HELP???? |

Is it a 3400 Grand Sport? I didn't think they made those in '83

Nope Rookie, NOT a Grand Sport. Has large Vee birth and a table that can be converted as a bed and has been at times. Thanks.

I think the boat you are talking about is a 34 Scarab Raider !!! They first came with twin or triple outboards but a few were made with IO's ----rare boat...........

Thanks guys, but the mystery has been solved, it's a SCARAB III. Was at the docks looking at taking out the Skater 482SS, and just shooting the breeze and asked, "do you know the model of the little boat", came back with "ya, ist a Scrarab III".
Thanks for all the help. |
