33 headliner question..

has anybody taken one out? how bad is it, can it be done with out damaging stuff?

i've been tossing around painting the boat and if i do i want to take the bow rail off and fill the holes.

anybody tackled one?

John,
What is the headliner in the scarab made from? I know when i redid the interior of the Cafe, the headliner was just foam glued to the deck. There would have been no way to remove the old liner where it could have been reused & still look nice.

It is a suspended liner. For the most part it is blind stapled around the perimeter under trim pieces. Take your inside hatch ring off and you may get a glimpse of what you are dealing with. The staples on the outside edges are underneath the little cove moulding type pieces above the benches..

..took my bow rail off and filled in the holes and had painted, vincent custom paint at LOTO did, turned out nice. my head liner appears to be glued in with this nasty orange crap that get's everywhere under it, insulation?, i'm having someone professional pull and redo in a different color than white. oh, and the bow rail, have to cut some small slits in the liner to access the screws/bolts.

...and the 29's have a non skid surface on the bow, had that taken off as well. just have to pay attention when walking out there to tie up.
