Just bought my first scarab!!
 

About a month ago I picked up a wellcraft scarab panther. I bought it from a buddy who has had it for about 4 years now and it has been sitting with one locked up motor(twin sbc). He had planned on swapping big blocks in it til he found a 85 scarab 2 with twin 454s he purchased it instead and I talkied him outta this one! I have already replaced the motor but now im thinking of doing the big block swap also and some interior work to it. will everything pretty much switch over from the sbc to bbc or is it alot of hassle to do this swap?

Congartulations on your first SCarab! I have a 81 30 foot Type S with big blocks. I believe very simialer to your Panther. Can you please post some pics of your engines, I am considering doing a small block conversion to give me more room to perform work when needed. If you need some demensions to consider a BBC swap let me know and i will try to measure for you.

Andy, what about putting in a pair of LSx engines?

I have been thinking about 2 ls1's nothing to crazy. I really wanna redo the entire engine compartment clean it up real nice and get rid of the old small blocks. I will prolly start to take it all part maybe this coming weekend!
