Any 26 Scarab Center Console out there?

Was looking around at Scarab center console boats for a while. (Scarab Sport 26?)
Saw one with a 496 Mag in the Florida area. Are there any more like it?

Why Not a 30'?

30velocity 10-16-2012 06:50 PM

do a search in ft myers craigslist... hull and trailer in good shape with no power --- not a bad deal to me ???

43scarab 10-17-2012 12:03 PM

There is a 30' on Ebay.

Port Monster 10-17-2012 03:19 PM

If you are going to get into some snot I would definitely consider the 30. You are going to be able to get up on the waves a lot better. If it is a lake boat or somewhere that is rountinely relatively calm then the 26' is perfect. And all of you 26' guys don't go getting all mad - it is just the nature of the beast. Undoubtedly the 26' will handle some rough stuff but I think the 30' will handle it better - IMO.

I agree there is no substitute for length when it comes to rough water. Although I must say I have owned my 26' Scarab Sport for ten years now and use it in the Chesapeake Bay and surrounding rivers which is like a washing machine on the weekends with generally winds in the 5-15 MPH range consistently producing 2-3 ft chop and have never missed a trip with my group which consists of 30' Scarab Sports, 33' Ocean Hawks, 33' Powerplays, 36' Concepts, 30' Concepts, and a 39' Cigarette to name a few. Generally I am the follower dont get me wrong but the group is never waiting for me to keep up. Generally I cruise at 35 MPH without any problem and my fuel consumption is great with the single 225HP Optimax. My top speed is 52 MPH which is plenty for the platform. Once my boat is sold I am sure I am going to look back and say that is a boat I wish I had back. Just looking to for a change right now.

30 Velocity, Where are you located?

Gordo 10-21-2012 12:30 PM

I'd love to have a 30, but space is a factor, (storage, lift, etc). It seems the 26 Scarab Sport sterndrive I saw on Tampa Craigslist must be a one & only from the factory. However, I may have found a 26 that will work...
