Which engine does my 94 Scarab 22 have?

I do not post much on this site, but I def read threads everyday. I bought a 1994 Scarab 22 from an estate sale of a guy that passed away unexpectedly - I got a great deal, but the prob is I don't have anyone to go to that has info on the boat. I have scoured the net to try and find a place I can go to put the engine info in so I can see what engine he's running. The engine # listed on the VA Game & Inland Fishery paperwork is "0F274525" and I don't know if this is a 5.7 or 350 mag engine. The boat is running a SS Quicksilver 4813702 a41 21p and will run 62-63 with one other person in it. This guy could have very well had some engine work done, b/c I haven't found any other 22's that are running this speed with a small block.

I guess my question is, how do I determine which engine I have? I know I'm running an alpha one outdrive, but would like to know the engine so I can ask more questions about WOT, parts, etc. any help would be greatly appreciated!

P.S. - I went to a mercruiser part website, typed in the engine # and it gave me 3 different engines it could be - was VERY little help. Thanks in advance and happy boating!

My 1995 22 used to run 60-61 on gps in saltwater with a 350 mag carb engine. Yours may be the same engine.

I think the 260 HP has a cast iron intake and the mag has an aluminum intake.

Is there an engine cover on top of the air breather? What does it say? Whats the block casting #? the # you posted brings up nothing. BTW that is cruising, I have the same boat but with a big block and a bravo. When i had the stock 7.4 mine would only do 62.
