Wht prop 680hp 540 in a 22scarab
 

What im wantn to know what prop are u guys running with in a 22scarab with 680hp 540 motor.i have a lab finish 27pitch when i had a 509 600hp in it done by bronson props i called them in there saying go to a four blade but i always thought for max speed id be better with a 3balde.what u guys think.thanx

The Mercury bravo one 4 blade 28 or 30 should be a good place to start testing . Better handling and cruise as well as lower slip numbers may be obtained .Depends on the RPM your engine needs to run for max hp for your pitch selection .

No harm in trying a 4 blade, but IMO you will want to stay with a 3 blade as 4s tend to manhandle light boats at times and given your delta pad bottom, it may be hard to keep it balanced on the pad with a 4. As to pitch, it was already stated that it is going to depend on your desired/intended rpm range.

Curious about your drive setup as well

Im still running stock bravo drive.

Steering? Etc? Very curious how this boat runs.

I need hyd steering but yet to get it do to too many othr projects but when i had the 600hp 509 in it i ran 85scotts on gps n i thought the boat handled fine unless id over trim it thn it would get a little squirley but ive raced biggr boats on ruff water days in felt i handled the waves better thn thy did ill have 540 n it this week n ill let you know how it does.

Stock bravo 85 mph with 600hp? What prop?
