489 in 22 scarab
 

I busted a piston in my 97 22 scarab. It has the 330 horse 454 with a carb. I was thinking about stroking it to a 489. I already have the eagle 4340 4.250 crank and the eagle I beam 6.3850 rods. I also have a oval port rpm air gap intake. I was thinking about running the edelbrock rpm heads and roller cam. What piston and brand should I run?

I just built the motor your doing and I used flat top srp pistons

I have a 625hp 496 stroker in my 97...

What speeds have you seen out of it? What outdrive?

seaman which srp pistons did you go with? I was looking at the srp's 142979 which should make it a 9.0 compression.

how do you know,,you never put the engine on the dyno!
