anode destroyed! XR Drive
 

I had a weird noise in my boat today and would randomly lose about 100-200 rpm...turned around and headed back to dock and put boat on trailer... walked around the boat and decided to give the prop a spin... heard the horrible metal on metal sound... looked inside and saw a bunch of balled up metal. Pulled prop off and found the anode was ripped off the mounts and mangled. There was a balled up piece of metal in there. I asked a guy at a local shop about it and he says its the flapper for my silent choice.. must have fell out and got pushed down into the prop....then commence destruction of anode. anyone else ever had this problem? the boat gets trailered, should i replace the anode or just run it?
