Scarab runs great !!

at two weeks im only the second fastest in town, thats all !! :-(

a 24" Checkmate (1997) with an HP500EFI (2001) is the fastest now !!!

This year i have drive showers, they works very nice !!

Engines runs perfect ( all standart mags ) !

The weather in germany are very bad, many water overall !! :-)

Dont worry guys...I'm still here even if i dont have a Scarab anymore! :( I would never abbandon my Scarab brotheren! :D I just sorta lurk in here to see if anything needs commenting now a days. Other then that i dont much scroll down past the tech part of the forum!

Scarabs been sold, looking for a new one. Off to the 1000 Island Poker Run on a BAJA of all things.

Its been awhile since I last posted.

I'm here Just rejetted the carb's today not to much time left this year

And of course I am still here. Hey if it doesn't break there isn't much to talk about. I lost a exhaust rocker arm stud a few weeks ago and had to replace all of the rocker arms ( went with the chrome molly ones from CROWER. I also replaced the studs with new ARP ones. And when the exhaust valve didn't open the cylinder pressure caused the intake valve to not open and it bent the push rod. Jim Valakeo gave me a new one that he had laying around.
I plan to pull both motors out this fall and go through them and do a little TINKERING. Thinking about going to 540's or so for about 750 HP each. That should get me to about 85 GPS- I hope.

I would go with 540's if the budget allows!

I'm still tinkering with the idea of stroking my Whipple charged 502!!! I think I could squeeze 800HP out of it, if it was done right!!

I haven't broken but one thing this year... a 4-blade 16.5x25 prop. I did some tweaking in the beginning of the year, but since I broke the prop, I have spent most of the year disheartened, and looking for some suitable replacements.

I didn't hit anything, I was only turning about 4500 rpm's, and the only satisfactory reason for it to break is... "they do that." Just bad F-ing luck.

The good news is that in my search for new props, I have met some really nice people that know LOADS about the boat and drives. One guy sent me a pair of 3-blade props to try first and ask questions later -- wouldn't even let me pay COD.

Offshore people are great.

I'm still here . I been a bit quite on the board because of a pending lawsuit. Don't ask :rolleyes: The boat is running great. I got about 20+ hours on it. The speeds I was looking for aren't there so I will be looking to get a inter cooler and a drive extension. I want to see high 70's. I been doing a bunch of prop testing. I tried 8 props total so far and the best was a labed 24 bravo 1 that ran 69mph in dead flat water. This boat don't like calm water and it eats up the rough stuff. I just changed the plugs an wires last night. I heard a miss the other day and found a wire arcing and a ground off the ignition system. so maybe I will get some more out of her. unfortunately the weather is not good for prop testing . it just to humid out. but I am looking to go out any way. latter

I was happy to read your post. I was also sorry to see all that prop testing with seemingly more to do. I have a 24 bravo 1 4 blade that has been worked and thinned you can try if you like. At least that would give you another 24 to try. It has helped others including a 29 scarab that absolutely loved it. Not the same boat ...but... sorta close..LOL
Let me know I'll toss it down to ya.

I'm still here. Panthers running great. Really like the new dash and guages put in over winter. Only blew one motor all season... so far. Both have run great since and have been put to the romp test repeatedly!! Already lining up winter jobs. Both motors need to come out to address an apparent oil control problem (windage) in the pans. Other than that, looks like a boring winter.

I'd put up pictures if I could figure out how to????

The race tapes are great, now in the wintertime i make a videonight with some boatingfrends ! I have buy a Digicamcorder, last month. Whe have make some nice videos from my boating area. I make a CD for you , for your DVD Player !! I send a catalog for Sam too, in the next weeks !! next week the boats came out of the water , end of boatingtime :mad: :( !

how do ya make a DVD?

DVD writer at this time at 399€ but i wait 1 ore 2 years fore buying one !!

I use standart CD ROM´s and the SVCD Standart !!

I use Pinnacle8.0 for Camcorder to PC over Fire Wire.
Than i cut the film and confert it to a SVCD Standart !!!(Super Video Compact Disk ) with the Pinnacle.
Than i use WINONCD 5.0 and make a SVCD for DVD Player !!

Now you have a digital video for the DVD Player with CD Sound quality !!
