1996 26 Scarab - Composite?

Hi guys, I am looking at a 1996 Scarab 26 footer. Are the stringers and floor made of composite or wood. I was told that scarab's in that year dont have any wood in them? Is that true? Thanks..

The transom has wood, I just installed thre hull exhaust and the plugs show thick transom though.

I have done extensive work on badmonkey on here's 96-26 scarab and the transom stringers and floor are most definitely wood... The boat has lots of flotation foam in it but that's about it.

OK, well there seems to be some misinformed people on here. The person who I have been talking with who owns this particular boat has also been told from sources on this webiste that the 1996 26 Scarab has composite/Fiberglass stringers and floor. So the owner is misinformed as well? So, I have one person says there is NO wood and another that says there is. Both agree the transom is wood. So, Scarabs are the same as any other boat in that erra? Total wood transom and stringers?

I will dig around and see if I can find a picture of the 4" hole we drilled into the floor to gain access to thru bolt the outside leg of the bolsters when he ripped the bolster out of the floor. It was a gel/fiberglass floor but definitely a wood core, and the stringer I started to cut into accidentally when cutting the access for the k planes also poured out saw dust not composite/glass dust.

Is the boat close to you? If so an easy way to look is simply pull the access port right inbetween the bolsters and check for yourself. That will atleast tell you what the floor substructure is.

Is the boat a Wellcraft or Larry Smith ? Wellcraft only used wood for there structures in the 90s

They are known for Rot so I would guess wood.
My 96 was made of hay before glassdave put the magic touch on it!
