Looking for S-Type Project Boat!

Anyone have, or know of a Scarab 300, S-Type, or Panther project boat worth redoing? I designed many models myself in the 24 years I was with Baja Marine and owned many of them, but as a kid I remember looking at Wellcraft brochures and saying some day I want one of these boats! I turn 50 next month and maybe it is time for me to fulfill the dream.

There was a '79 scarab 300 on eBay. Small blocks. Was on boat trader with original plaid cabin interior, then current owner got it and it's for sale again. Very original looking.

Was not interested at first on that one, but maybe after removing the swivel spotlight, tall bow rail, arch, and tall windshield for a low windshield, or Panther fairing. The hull windows would have to go, or you paint that section from the rub rail to the first feature line (Black) so that they disappear.

Glassdave could make those windows a thing of the past........

I thought about that along with him doing the paint work.

sick Stinger had one with new stringers and transom he tried to give away for free 2 months ago with new interior.

He ended up crushing it. I love the S types and would have loved to have it but it was not the time for me.

I had a customer that lives 20 min. go and look at this one for me. Lower transom is rotting along with the port side engine compartment stringer. Offered 3k and he hung up on me. Probably best that he did.

Sh!t, I found a Panther for sale a couple weeks back that just needed power and a little TLC. Now I can not find it! White with red stripes, similar to mine before I painted it.

If I could find a 38' Scarab AVS project hull I would pull my power and sell you my Panther.

Rookie, my buddy may have picked up the one you're talking about.

I talked to that guy about the boat. I liked it because it had a paint job similar to mine. Said he pulled the motors several years ago and that the boat was in good shape and solid. He called me a few weeks later hot to trot to sell it. It looks pretty gay with the anchor hanging off the bow Said all it needed was motors. I was surprised when he said it had Merc transmissions.

How much did you sell yours for? Any photos of it?

I think someone else told me about that one but it was too late. Post a photo on this thread if you can.

I still have my 1992 - 34 SCARAB for sale. It does need a transom and a cabin floor. The rest of the boat is in very good condition. ( The cabin floor went bad because I installed rubber backed carpet about 15 years ago - Still looks great but the floor is soft.)

$4000 or best offer.

On a good trailer.

You have a link to any ad or photos?

I have been very busy this winter ( HVAC ) SO I haven't been pushing the sale but I want it gone. I need the space.
