Wrap replacement thoughts - input needed
6 Attachment(s)
Have a 2000 Scarab Sport 302. Original factory wrap is starting to peel. Time to replace.
Never had a problem with the look of the factory wrap. But before I have someone replicate it, thought I might consider some other ideas. (Note using paint at this time. Also, not doing deck, just sides.) First, considering idea of the Miami Vice boat side. Second, possible doing something like the swirl job on early 2000's Cigarette Gladiators. Anyone think these ideas would look alright or should I stay traditional? |
Miami vice boat side would make the boat too dated to me.

I'd go with Cig swirl.

I'm battling the same thing on paint jobs for my Scarab. Just an opinion that I've come to think may be true. The flashy bright complex colors like the swirl are also dating the boat and are on their way out. It seems in looking at all the new boats coming out in the recent boat shows that the colors are more muted and the lines are longer and swoopy-er (haha) with a return to more of a classic "stripe". Deeper, richer colors, darker shades. Might look at some of the high dollar boats in the various boat show pic threads and go completely new wave. I think that's where I'm headed with mine.

I think CDShack is right on. We all love the Cig and it's amazing right now. But in five years, it's going to look like it's 10 years old. Nothing wrong with it but you might want to stay ahead of the game if it it's an investment in the future for you.
All this said, anyone know the ballpark of a full boat wrap by the foot with a style like this? I've redone everything on my boat but the paint! |
